Club News: Bassmasters Tournament

     The Bassmasters held a tournament on March 6 with 11 boats and 20 fishermen participating. In all, 51 fish were caught that weighed a total of 136.01 lbs. The first place honors went to the pictured team of Jon Evans and George Cobb, with a five-fish limit weighing 17.12 lbs. Mark White and Joe Grasso were in second place with a 16.08 lb. limit. Third place went to the team of Chuck Moreno and Eli Villeran with 15.89 lbs. The Big Fish for the day was caught by Mark White and weighed 4.38 lbs. All fish were released back into the Lake in good shape. The Canyon Lake Bassmasters have meetings at Pepe's Restaurant on the first Wednesday of each month and hold a tournament on the following Saturday. They also hold six team tournaments per year, which are open to all residents of Canyon Lake. The club is active in many community events and hosts the annual "Kids Fishing Derby" each August.
