Lions Club
     At the Lions meeting on July 9, City Council member Jordan Ehrenkranz will be inducted as a new member by Past-president Jack Melcher. The program speaker will be former stunt man Stan Kruml – "The Horse's Friend." Stan is a “horse whisperer” and motivational speaker. Anyone wishing to come and listen to this interesting speaker is asked to call Lion President George Middle at 244-7621.

Cotillion
     The next Cotillion meeting will be held at the Lodge on July 10. The more relaxed dress summer theme meetings will start with Western Night. "Grab your hat and boots and be ready to learn a few Western dance steps," says facilitator Ed Strong.
     A Tahitian dancer, flowered shirts, sarongs and leis are planned for Hawaiian night on August 7. A '40s/'50s night is planned for September 4, with participants encouraged to wear period dress such as poodle skirts for girls and T-shirts with rolled sleeves for the gentlemen. Dances will include the Chicken Dance as well as the Macarena, East Coast Swing and a few other fun dances, according to Ed.

Car Club
     The next meeting of the Car Club is scheduled for August 6. Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by the general meeting at 6:30 p.m. Stop by and find out about upcoming events, listen to guest speakers and share automotive experiences. Finger foods will be served and a 50/50 drawing will round out the evening. Anyone owning a pre-1973 vehicle is welcome. CLAMS
     Now is the time to sign up for the CLAMS annual Laughlin trip. This year’s trip will be to the Aquarius Hotel and Casino on September 20 to 22. The cost is $184 per room, double occupancy, or $115 for single occupancy. The cost includes round trip wet bar, baggage handling, tax and tips for two nights and three days in Laughlin. Travel Club
     A trip to see “Cats” at the Moonlight Theater has been scheduled for Friday, September 25. The cost is $70 for members and $75 for guests and includes a box dinner. This trip is open to members now and will open to guests on July 15. The Newport Parade of Lights Cruise with dinner at the Five Crowns is on December 18. Cost is $90. The meal choice is prime rib, chicken Waldorf or salmon and should be specified at sign-up. For more information, contact Lou DeYoung at 244-7100.
     All multi-day trips are now open to both members and guests. The Waves to Vines, August 2 to 5, $680 members and $685 guests is full and a waiting list is being compiled; The Albuquerque Balloon Festival, October 6 to 13, $939 members and $944 guests. The Costa Rica trip, November 11 to 19, is $2,249 double and $2,749 single. The land-only cost is $1,249 double and $1,749 single. For more information, contact Gene Ferrieri at 244-8764. Photography Club
     Photography Club meetings are held the second Thursday of each month and all residents are invited to attend and become members. Members and their guests will enjoy learning more about all aspects of photography from guest speakers and other members in the group and can put their newfound knowledge to practical use on field trips and club "assignments."  Applications may be obtained from Margaret Dombay at 244-1826 or mdombay2@msn.com. Bosom Buddies
     The Bosom Buddies mission is to educate, inspire and support newly diagnosed breast cancer survivors during their breast cancer journey. Pinochle Club
     New members are welcomed to join the Pinochle Club, which plays every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the Towne Center Conference Room. For more information, call Hal Funk at 244-3216 or Marlys Shilling at 244-4241.

Art Association
     The Art Association meets in the City Multi-purpose Room on the first Thursday of every month from 7 to 9 p.m.; meetings are open to all residents. There is a “Monday Night Painters” workshop at Blue Bird Hall every Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. Artists of all types and media are encouraged to work on their own artwork during this time. Roadrunners
     Meetings are held at Roadrunner Park on the second Tuesday of each month from 5 to 8 p.m. Guests are welcome. For more information, contact Gene Ebel at 244-9462.

Twirlers
     The Twirlers Square Dance Club’s Phase One class is held every Wednesday from 7 to 8:15 p.m. Phase Two classes are held from 8:15 to 9:30 p.m. and teach the higher level calls to prepare the dancers to attend all club level dances on the second Sunday of each month as well as dances sponsored by other clubs.
     Round dance classes are offered on Mondays from 12 to 2 p.m.; advanced classes from 2 to 4 p.m.
     A beginner line dance class is held Tuesdays from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in the City Multi-purpose Room, led by Diana Gallagher; all ages are welcome. A beginning to intermediate line dance class is offered Wednesdays from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Holiday Bay Room. For more information, call Randy Gibson at 246-1846 or Vi Henderson at 244-0345.

Yacht Club
     Meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of the month. Boat ownership is not a criterion for membership. Members enjoy fun events throughout the year, including the moonlight cruise, progressive dinner, Oktoberfest, lake clean-up and more. For more information, contact Kathy Bacon at 246-9968. Woman’s Club
     The Woman’s Club is a non-profit, non-partisan, philanthropic organization dedicated to the enrichment of the community and helping others less fortunate. Any Canyon Lake woman interested in learning more about this worthwhile club is asked to call Membership Chairperson Cathy Barr at 246-1123. Bassmasters
     The Canyon Lake Bassmasters meet on the first Wednesday of each month and hold a tournament on the following Saturday. They also hold six team tournaments per year, which are open to all residents of Canyon Lake.
     The club is active in many community events and hosts the annual “Kids Fishing Derby” each August. Those interested in learning more about bass fishing and low-pressure competition may call President Jon Evans at 244-5948. The club also sponsors a Junior Bassmasters club.
