Announcement: Albrecht heads to Women's Open

     Ashleigh Albrecht calls Murrieta home, but Canyon Lakers also can be proud of the young golfer whose parents, John and Patty Albrecht, own a vacation home here. The 2009 Murrieta Valley High School graduate recently qualified to play in the U.S. Women’s Open, to be held at the Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, July 9 to 12.
     Ashleigh earned her tee spot in the Women’s Open during the sectional qualifier at the par-72 Carolina Trace Country Club in Sanford, North Carolina, where she grabbed the final spot after winning a three-way playoff on June 11.
