Canyon Lake night at Storm Stadium
Hosted by the Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce and the City of Canyon Lake, the 4th annual Canyon Lake Community Night at the Storm Stadium will be held Saturday, July 18. According to the Chamber, the event, sponsored by RAS Financial, Costco, Canyon Lake Country Club, Ken and Dorothy Cable and Pepe’s, will be a fun evening for the community with good food, good seats and a good game against the Stockton Ports.
Arrive early for the tailgate party and enjoy hot dogs and hamburgers with all the fixings, along with beverages and dessert. The Canyon Lake Car Club will be there with many of its members’ cars on display.
Tickets are only $15 per person and include both the tailgate party and the game if purchased by July 8; tailgating begins at 4:30 p.m. in Lot B, followed by the game at 7:05 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the Chamber office, Pack, Wrap and Post and City Hall and will come with an armband that must be worn to participate in the tailgate party. For more information, please contact the Chamber office at 244-6124.

“Wipeout” production
It’s less than three weeks away, so Canyon Lakers will want to mark their calendars for the Canyon Lake Community Theatre children’s production, “Wipeout,” to be performed on the Lodge stage Thursday, July 23, through Sunday, July 26. Performances are at 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday.
This year’s “surf musical” takes the audience back to a simpler time, when life was keen, music cool and hanging out at the local surf shop was the thing to do . . . until developers decide they want the surf shop’s stretch of sand for a ritzy new development.
Directed by Ilene Moore, the cast is made up of about 75 local children ages 4 to 14. As is always true with the children’s productions, most of the parts have been double cast to allow more kids the opportunity to participate.
Ilene has been acting and directing theater since 1961 and has taught music, private voice, dance and drama throughout Southern California for the past 35 years. She specializes in the grooming of aspiring young actors, imparting to them a love of the performing arts and the joy of performing on stage in live theater.
Cast members can get tickets on Saturday, July 11. Tickets will go on sale to the public Sunday, July 12, for a cost of $15 reserved, $12 general, $10 seniors and students and $8 for children under 12. For ticket information, call Sharlene Landau at 244-2521 or visit www.clctpa.org. Those interested in advertising in the program should call Co-producer Sue Collins at 244-9675.

Residents can contact Anthony for a limited number of passes that will be given out on a first-come basis by calling 800-679-3859.
