Some of the artwork used for the New Year's Eve Midnight Masquerade Ball was carefully preserved from a Mardi Gras-themed fashion show put on by the Woman's Club in 2008. The masks and murals, created by professional muralist Edmond Piffard, were enhanced by the sparkle of real beads, sequins, coins, glittery fabric and colorful balloons. Credit also should be given to Woman's Club member and artist Joanie Sundstrom, who was the decoration chair for that year's fashion show.

Buy tickets early for New Year's Eve gala

The Lodge will be the setting for a splendid New Year’s Eve extravaganza on Thursday, December 31; and, with only 250 tickets available, early reservations are recommended.
In addition to entertainment provided by the rock ’n roll band, Cat-illacs, and versatile performer Gil Alcantar, a menu worthy of the “Midnight Masquerade Ball” is planned.
Imagine the sass and sounds of Bourbon Street with stations for food, beverages, desserts and candies located throughout the dining area.
The gala menu will include hors d’oeuvres, a roast beef carving station, sweet and sour meatballs, antipasto, chicken skewers, spinach artichoke dip with crackers, cheese platters with baked brie, stuffed mushrooms, vegetables, a martini mashed potato bar, pasta bar with penne pasta and a choice of three sauces, drink station with gourmet coffee, lemonade, iced tea and water and a dessert station with a chocolate fountain and assorted cookies, brownies, cheesecake squares, cream puffs and éclairs. And don’t forget the candy station with its variety of sweets in glass jars.
Naturally, the bar will be open and cigar fans will be pleased to know there will be a cigar lounge on the patio where they can smoke and enjoy cocktails. All this, along with a midnight champagne toast and party favors, are included in the ticket price of $75 per person.
Only the best will do when The Special Event Connection of Temecula provides the accoutrements for this affair with linens, china, glassware and silverware. Food service will be provided by American Classic Catering. In addition, guests will be able to have their pictures taken by a professional photographer, who will provide prints onsite.
POA membership is not a requirement to purchase tickets; however, purchasing a ticket does not ensure gate access – this must be secured by the purchaser on his or her own. There is no maximum limit on the number of tickets that can be purchased. Tickets are transferable but they are nonrefundable. There will be no reserved seating.
No need to travel to New Orleans (or anywhere outside the gates) when Mardi Gras is coming to Canyon Lake!
