Softball, Little League sign-ups this weekend

     Local youth will have one last opportunity this weekend to sign up for spring baseball and softball. Baseball is available for children 5 to 14 years of age. The cost has been reduced and will be $110 for ages 5 to 8 and $140 for ages 9 and up. Games for baseball and softball will begin on February 28.
     Tryouts will be held for those 8 years and over tomorrow. The following times are for baseball: 8 year olds at 8 a.m.; 9 to 10 year olds at 9 a.m.; 11 to 12 year olds at 10 a.m.; 13 to 14 years olds at 11 a.m. All girl softball players will try out at 12 p.m. Canyon Lake Little League is the largest youth program in the community with over 300 youth, according to spokesperson Alex Cook.
