EVMWD board elects new officers for 2009

     The Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District board of directors elected new officers at its regular meeting on January 8, naming board members Phil Williams to the position of president, Judy Guglielmana to vice-president and Ben Wicke to treasurer.
     A Canyon Lake resident, Ben has served on the EVMWD board of directors since 1994 and was elected treasurer by a 5-0 vote. He also serves on the district’s Engineering and Operations Committee, as liaison to the Eastern Municipal Water and Western Municipal Water Districts, as well as Region 9 Vice-Chairman on the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA) board of directors. Ben has served on the Region 9 board since 1999, representing all of the water agencies in Riverside, San Bernardino and Imperial Counties.
     Williams is a lifelong resident of Lake Elsinore and was first elected to the Board in 2000. He also serves on the Lake Elsinore and San Jacinto Watersheds Authority (LESJWA) board, is the Special Districts representative for the Local Area Formation Commission (LAFCO) and has served on the Association of California Water Agencies Joint Powers Insurance Authority (ACWAJPIA) Committee since 2000. He was elected president by a 4-1 vote.
     Elected to the EVMWD board in 2006, Guglielmana has over 35 years of community involvement, serving on the Elsinore High School board of trustees as well as having been involved with the local Chambers of Commerce, the Lake Elsinore Historical Society and the Elsinore Woman’s Club. She serves on the EVMWD Legislation, Conservation and Community Outreach Committee, is a liaison with the Western Municipal Water District and was recently elected to the board of the San Jacinto River Watershed Council. She was elected vice-president by a 5-0 vote.
