Moving vehicles off a street scheduled for sweeping allows the sweeper to thoroughly clean the street from curb-to-curb. One parked car equals nearly three car-lengths of space that can’t be swept because the street sweeping equipment must leave room to avoid it. This also means that debris left behind could end up in a storm drain or ultimately in the Lake. In addition to the weekly street sweeping program, the Operations Department employees drive the streets daily, cleaning debris and trash out of the streets, gutters and storm drains. If a member sees trash, spills or debris in the street or around storm drains, he or she is encouraged to contact Operations, which will dispatch a crew to clean up the area. Members with questions about the CLPOA Street Sweeping Program are encouraged to contact the Operations Department at 244-6841, ext. 510, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., or e-mail pjohnson@canyonlakepoa.com. Members can also contact Interstate Sweeping directly at 1-800-310-3002. |
