It's finally here! Tomorrow night is the 3rd annual Canyon Lake Community Night at the Lake Elsinore Diamond, so pack up the E-Z Up and some chairs for the tailgate party at 4:30 p.m.; the game starts at 7:08. At left, Canyon Lake resident Lindsay Christian, who performs under the name "Lincelie," sings the National Anthem before last Thursday night's Storm game. Chamber Notes: Canyon Lake Night at the Diamond is tomorrow

     Hosted by the City of Canyon Lake and the Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce, the 3rd annual Canyon Lake Community Night at the Lake Elsinore Diamond will be held tomorrow, July 19. For those who have already purchased their tickets, make sure to arrive early, wearing the armband that was provided with the ticket for the tailgate party at 4:30 p.m. Enjoy hot dogs and hamburgers with all the fixings, along with drinks and dessert.
     Barbecue chef Marty Gibson will preside over the grill, assisted by “chefs in training” Mike Irvin and Larry Cressy. RAS Financial will provide beer for the event, with Phil Cohen supplying dessert. The Canyon Lake Car Club will be there, with many of the members’ cars on display, and Mayor Carl Armbrust and Chamber President Mike Irvin will participate in throwing out the first pitch of the night.
     Tickets for the game only, which starts at 7:08 p.m., can still be purchased at the gate.

Cruise to Cabo
     The Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce is planning its 15th annual Chamber group cruise fundraiser and invites residents to join. Chamber membership is not required.
     The four-day Baja Mexico cruise to Cabo San Lucas on Carnival’s “Elation” will set sail from San Diego on Thursday, December 4. Both majestic and luxurious, the Elation combines the lavish entertainment and casino action of Vegas with the pampering spa facilities of Palm Springs, according to the Carnival website. Rates for the trip are $419.90 per person for an inside berth and $479 for an outside berth (cruise only with port and tax). A $100 deposit is required, of which $30 is non-refundable.
     A layaway plan is available as well as free bus transportation from Canyon Lake. For more information, contact Canyon Lake Travel at 244-1831.

July Mixer
     April Pappas of Glamour Box will be hosting this month’s mixer on Wednesday, July 30, at 5:30 p.m. Businesses are encouraged to bring door prizes to the mixers, which are open to everyone, as a great way to get recognition in the community.
