Operations Manager The Association contracts with Interstate Sweeping Services Inc. to sweep the streets of Canyon Lake. Starting in July, Interstate Sweeping will sweep the first four weeks of each month on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. For your reference, the Operations Department will be publishing a chart in The Friday Flyer that lists each street and the day it’s scheduled to be swept. The street sweepers remove harmful pollutants, leaves and trash from the streets. By sweeping the debris, this prevents it from clogging our storm drains or washing into the Lake. Members and their guests play the a very important part in ensuring our streets are as clean as they can be by not parking on the street for sweep day, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Moving vehicles off a street scheduled for sweeping allows the sweeper to thoroughly clean the street from curb-to-curb. One parked car equals nearly three car-lengths of space that can’t be swept because the street sweeping equipment must leave room to avoid it. This also means that debris left behind could end up in a storm drain or ultimately in the Lake. In addition to the weekly street sweeping program, the Operations Department employees drive the streets daily, cleaning debris and trash out of the streets, gutters and storm drains. If a member sees trash, spills or debris in the street or around storm drains, he or she is encouraged to contact the Operations Department and we will dispatch a crew to clean up the area. With your help, Canyon Lake streets can be kept clean and attractive for all to enjoy. Members with questions about the CLPOA Street Sweeping Program are encouraged to contact the Operations Department at 244-6841, ext. 510, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., or e-mail pjohnson@canyonlakepoa.com. Members can also contact Interstate Sweeping directly if they would like at 1-800-310-3002 |
