Letter: Inconvenient but beneficial Editor, The Friday Flyer: I just returned from the airport on April 8. Another water main break – this time it will only affect Treasure Island. I did stop and ask if I was out of water again on Appaloosa Dr. Apparently, a valve that leads to water service on Treasure Island broke from the heaviness of some vehicles. The contractors were very sympathetic and assured me it was only Treasure Island affected. And, they were already working on it. I passed the street sweeper on my way to Appaloosa and wondered if this calamity was caused by the heaviness of the street sweeper. We on this end of Canyon Lake are certainly feeling impatient at the conditions of the road and the numerous problems encountered. But I am mindful that these guys have suffered enough wrath from the last water main break and worked very hard to get it restored as quickly as possible. Did anyone bother to thank them? You know what, I did! These guys wave to me and I know they appreciate our patience and even wave back. These guys are very nice and we should afford them the opportunity to make the improvements now, while they can. Okay, the road is a mess but we must be patient because the project is for our benefit. Merritt Reid |
