Swim lessons begin next week Swimming lessons are scheduled to begin next week. There will be classes for infants, toddlers and children with skills from beginning to advanced in seven levels. Registration is ongoing and takes place in the Pool Office from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon. Each five-day session includes a “graduation” ceremony after Friday classes. A student’s first class will cost $50, with that child paying only $35 for additional classes he or she takes throughout the season. Lessons will be held from 10:15 to 10:45 a.m. or from 11 to 11:30 a.m. Dates include June 19 to 24, June 26 to June 30, July 10 to 14, July 17 to 21, July 24 to 28 and July 31 to August 4. Lessons will be held in a roped off portion of the pool, according to Superintendent Val Grillo, who says the pool is open for lap swimming at 7 a.m. Open swimming has been extended and are being held from 10 a.m, to 9 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays. On Friday and Saturday nights, the pool is open until 10 p.m.
