Canyon Lake Little League teams go to Tournament of Champions

The Canyon Lake Little League’s top teams had a rough first round in last weekend’s Tournament of Champions. The Jr. Brewers, pictured in the June 9 issue of The Friday Flyer, lost their first game in two years, 8-7, to Lake Elsinore.
The Major Nationals battled for 10 innings with the Lake Elsinore Angels, only to lose 3-2. They were defeated once again on Tuesday evening versus Horsethief Canyon, 5-4.
The minor White Sox were defeated 9-1 by the Lake Elsinore Angels on Saturday and eliminated from the tournament Monday with a loss to Temecula.
Showing their determination to stay in the competition, the Jr. Brewers dominated their second round game against Menifee Valley on Tuesday evening, winning 13-0; and on Wednesday night, they beat Oceanside American 6-3.
The Tournament is double elimination pool play, played between the top teams in the 28th district, which includes Lake Elsinore, Wildomar, Horsethief Canyon, Menifee, Perris, Vista, Fallbrook, Temecula and Murrieta.
