Fashion Show and silent auction are today

     Extra seats have been added for what promises to be an elegant afternoon of fashion and entertainment today at the Lodge, for the Woman’s Club’s “Fashion Divas 2006.”
     Though tickets have been pre-sold, Directors Gayle Stroffe and Cathy Barr say tickets to the fashion show will likely be available at the door because of last minute cancellations. They don’t want anyone to miss the fun.
     Tickets are not necessary to participate in the Silent Auction with host bar that will be held prior to the fashion show. Doors to the Fashion Divas Silent Auction open today at 2 p.m.
     Attendees will have the opportunity to bid on 56 items In addition to the silent auction items, drawing tickets will be sold for $1 each to be used to win 10 different gift baskets. Basket themes include “Appletini,” Candles, Diva, Country Western, Family Entertainment, Home Décor, Java, Picnic, Spa and Wine.
      Fashion show seating will begin at 3:30 p.m. The show will feature 27 models wearing evening gowns, clothing from Dee’s Fashions and the Canyon Lake Pro Shop. Entertainment will be provided by Good Time Entertainment. Hors d’oeuvres, drinks and dessert will be included in the price of the $30 ticket.
     During the auction and fashion show, attendees will also be able to purchase drawing tickets for the 2005 custom golf cart. The winning ticket will be drawn at tonight’s barbecue.

Poolside barbecue
     Included in the day’s activities and also open to all Canyon Lake residents is an evening barbecue on the Lodge patio overlooking the pool. For a cost of $7.95 per person, residents will enjoy a menu of grilled chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, carne asada, salsa bar and more. Margaritas, mixed drinks, keg beer, wine and soft drinks will also be served.
     For more information about Fashion Divas 2006, or to purchase tickets for the fashion show or golf cart drawing, come to the Lodge today at 2 p.m.
