POA to offer health screenings Canyon Lakers who’d like to find out whether or not they are at increased risk for stroke, aneurysm, osteoporosis, diabetes, heart disease or cancer will want to take advantage of health screenings that will be available here early next year.
HealthScreens, associated with the non-profit Gerontology Research Foundation, has been providing cutting edge testing since 1986 and has provided testing for Canyon Lake residents since 2002.
Those who make appointments will have an opportunity to participate for the first time or to have their annual screening when HealthScreens returns to the City Multi-purpose Room on Wednesday, January 5, 2006. “Give yourself a gift of good health in the New Year,” say organizers.
Screening choices include a stroke screen for $40, screenings for aneurysms for $35, heart for $35, circulation for $35, osteoporosis for $30, kidney for $35, liver for $35, gallbladder for $35 or thyroid for $35. Cholesterol and glucose blood screen will cost $25. The ultrasound used identifies plaque, fluid, stones, cysts, nodules, masses and more. No radiation is used.
Canyon Lakers can order just one test if they prefer. Or a group of four tests costs $115, eight tests are $195 and nine test $215.
